Infants & Toddlers

The Infant & Toddler program is for children from three weeks to about 24 months of age or when they become proficient walkers and may graduate into the TOTS program.

This program is available for a reduced day (8:00-3:30) or full day (7:00-5:45), for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days a week.

The strength of our infant and toddler program begins with a strong bond between teachers, parents and the children. Our infant and toddler teachers use developmentally appropriate practices to provide our youngest children with stimulating activities both indoors and outside. The infant and toddler teachers plan intentional learning activities based on four areas of development: Physical, Social/Emotional, Language, and Cognitive (or thinking) Skills. Teachers talk to children in respectful and encouraging ways. They read books, sing, dance, and snuggle with the children every day. Infants and toddlers gain independence and self-confidence as they progress through milestones of development.

The wonder and excitement of the infant and toddler room is documented in a variety of ways. Infants, up to the age of 24 months, have a written log that includes: wake up time, tummy times, food and elimination information and more. Parents and teachers stay in tune with the infant’s activities and development. Our Teaching Strategies Gold online child portfolio provides another way for our teachers and parents to document development throughout these exciting years.
